PokéPath TD Best Team Builds: Top 3 Meta Compositions

By PokéPath TeamLast updated: December 28, 2025

Note: This article provides a general overview of team building concepts. For detailed, route-specific no-damage lineups from a 900-star completion player, check out our Best Teams for Every Stage (Part 1) guide.

Finding the best team in PokéPath TD isn't about stacking six S-Tier Pokémon—it's about synergy. In practice, a perfectly balanced team of buffers, crowd control, and a single hyper-carry will consistently outperform a lineup of random top-tier units.

Whether you're pushing difficult stages like Route 3-1 or farming millions of gold to max out your Ditto, these are the top 3 meta team compositions currently dominating PokéPath TD.

1. The "Meta Stacking" Team (Best Overall Progression)

This is the ultimate all-purpose progression team, capable of clearing Waves 1–100 on almost every standard route (Route 1-3, 2-1, etc.) by layering buffs, CC, and raw DPS.

Team Roster

  • Ditto (S-Tier) – Copies your strongest unit
  • Sunflora – +20% global Damage Aura
  • Farfetch'd – Critical Damage Aura
  • Corsola / Ampharos – Slow or Stun crowd control
  • Honchkrow – Mandatory for Invisible waves
  • Weavile / Maractus – Primary damage carry

Why This Is the Best PokéPath TD Clearing Team

The strength of this composition comes from buff stacking. Sunflora and Farfetch'd can simultaneously boost your main carry (usually Weavile). When Ditto copies that carry, you effectively run two fully buffed DPS units.

With Corsola slowing enemies or Ampharos locking them in place, this team:

  • Deletes tanky enemies
  • Clears swarm waves effortlessly
  • Remains stable across most maps

2. The "Infinite Money Printer" (Best Gold Farming Team)

If you're low on gold, this is the only farming setup you need. This strategy abuses boss stalling to generate virtually infinite gold without ever killing the boss.

Team Roster

  • Persian / Meowth – Generates gold on hit
  • Ditto – Transforms into Persian
  • Ampharos – Essential stun (especially vs Zapdos / Articuno)
  • Lapras / Corsola – Slow or Freeze control
  • No DPS Units – Remove all high-damage towers

Farming Strategy

  1. Reach the Wave 100 boss
  2. Enable Auto Retry in settings
  3. Place Persians + CC units only
  4. Let them hit the boss continuously to farm gold
  5. Allow the boss to leak → Auto Retry restarts the same wave

This lets you farm the same boss endlessly.

Gold Income

Up to 700,000 gold per minute on Suicune

I personally left this running overnight—after ~8 hours, I had 3,000,000+ PokéPath TD Gold

3. The "Boss Slayer" DoT Team (Best for Registeel & High-Armor Bosses)

Certain bosses—especially Registeel (Route 3-1)—have extreme armor and HP. Traditional physical carries like Weavile or Machamp barely scratch them. The solution is Damage over Time (DoT).

Team Roster

  • Gengar – Applies Curse/Nightmare (infinite scaling damage)
  • Weezing / Arbok – Poison (percentage-based HP damage)
  • Ariados – Additional poison + slow
  • Ditto – Copies Gengar for double DoT stacking
  • Ampharos – Keeps boss stunned inside DoT range

Why This Team Works

  • Poison deals 0.1% max HP per tick, ignoring armor
  • Gengar's Nightmare scales infinitely with repeated hits
  • Armor is completely bypassed

By the time Registeel reaches the end of the path, poison ticks alone are dealing massive damage, regardless of its defenses.

Final Tips: Building Your Own PokéPath TD Best Team

When designing your own team, always run through this checklist:

  • Detection: Do you have Honchkrow for invisible waves?
  • Crowd Control: At least one Stun (Ampharos) or Slow (Corsola)
  • Armor Handling: Excadrill or Machamp for armored waves
  • Buffs: Sunflora to maximize DPS output

Use the teams above as templates, then adjust based on route layout, enemy types, and terrain.
